Refresher Training for Records Staff

Friday February 25,2022 marked the last day of the week-long refresher trainings for various cadre of non-judicial staff in the Judiciary. The records staff was the last group to go through a refresher training at the Judicial Training Institute (JTI) in Nakawa. 

The goal of the trainings organized by the Human Resource Department together with JTI was to reskill the respective staff.  

HW Juliet Harty Hatanga, the Deputy Registrar Commercial Court, took the participants through the Code of Conduct and emphasized the virtue of integrity, discipline, decency, transparency and customer care.

She also pointed out that the Judiciary has an Anti-Sexual Harassment Policy in place and that the participants should familiarize themselves with it.  

She also called upon them to respect their supervisors. HW Hatanga went on to outline the benefits of good working relationships and seeking guidance at a workplace to include loyalty, trust, confidence which mitigate workplace conflicts.

On her part, the Commissioner of Human Resource Management, Mrs Apophia N. Tumwine advised the trainees to use every opportunity availed to attend such trainings. "Before we never used to go through such trainings, so go pass on the information to your colleagues of what you have learnt from this training," she stated. 

Mrs Tumwine emphasized the need for a positive attitude at the workplace.

She went on to thank the trainees for their service and implored them to go for further studies to improve their competences. They were, however, advised to avoid abandoning their stations for further studies but rather apply for study leave.  

Ms Roshen Nabateregga, the Senior Human Resource Officer from the Ministry of Public Service ,delivered a presentation about the Terms and Conditions of Service.

Additionally, Mr Mbabali Ronnie, from the Civil Service College, tutored the trainees on service excellence while focusing on ethical conduct, honesty, diligence, integrity and attention to duty as the key principles for excellence at work. 

The participants were also trained in customer proactiveness and time management.
